Excellent shell for pheasant
I have used the Winchester Super X High Brass for South Dakota pheasants for years. I use a over and under with 5 shot in the first barrel and 4 shot in the second. It definitely does the job if I do mine. Just the right pop to knock down the birds. It has moderate recoil. But honestly who feels recoil when the birds are busting all over!

Have used these for years to knock squirrels out of tall hickory trees. They have never let me down. Recoil is about in the middle between regular loads and heavy turkey loads. #5's are just the ticket to bust them out of thick leaves in the top of trees without too much damage. Also will easily take big grouse and pheasant whenever they offer a shot.

Always Performed Good
I have always had excellent performance from Winchester Super-X High Brass Shotshells. I have used these to roll squirrels out of the tops of huge oak trees and stop a rabbit running full speed at 40 yards. I always have these Winchester Shotshells in my inventory and I will keep them there as long as the excellent performance continues.

I have always used 6 shot for rabbits. If hunting them in thick cover with the shots being close, use a low brass field load. If hunting them in a relatively open area where the shot could be long, use a high brass heavy load.
