Rated 5 out of 5 by Good all around 22 ammo I picked up one up the other day to hunt squirrel. Took a few practice shots and then did some hunting got one at 25 yards with a head shot and iron sights after that shot some at a little spinning target 2 1/2 inches across hit it at 52 yards every time I shot at it great alround ammo pick some up you won't be sorry January 2, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Ammo I have used this in my derringer 22 long rifle without any problems. Also have used this product in early model Winchester Pump Rifle without any problems. Fast 22 long rifle Rounds! August 28, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Jam-o-matic Bought a brick of this today. Was happy and surprised that my local Bass Pro had quite a few boxes in. Was hoping for some fun this evening. In my always reliable Marlin 795, it was jam after jam. Failure to ejects. Deformed bullets with the copper coating dented. Got out some Federal and Remington I had and both of those were 100% in the Marlin. Again, more of these loaded Winchesters and more frustration with FTL and FTE. I have had good luck previously with these rounds, though never as consistently good as the Federal bulk. You might have better luck. July 29, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor Quality Ammo Oversized rims and/or casing diameter on 18 of 100 rounds (brick #1 of 10 purchased). These rounds will not seat/release from speed loaders and consistently would not eject from my 8 shot revolver's cylinder. On a road trip through the Midwest I bought 1,000 rounds of this (10 x 100 round bricks) at the Bass Pro in Clarksville, IN on 7/11/13. I was excited about being able to find .22 LRs AND being allowed to buy 10 boxes. Opened the 1st brick and noted that several rounds would not seat properly in my speed loaders (checked with 6 speed loaders being used that day). These same speed loaders had been used without incident to load a variety of ammo types prior to this issue (F: bulk & lighting, R: subsonic & goldens and mini mags). I recommend that you avoid this ammo. I'm very disappointed with this product. July 24, 2013

BassPro has two stock numbers for the 40 grain ammunition. One is a hollow point bullet and one is a round point bullet.

38-868-630-00 is Winchester PP PowerPoint for hollow point

38-869-188-00 is Winchester RP for Round Point.

When I was ordering these, the Bass help desk told me the Winchester codes and I got the descriptions from the Winchester website. BassPro might want to update their descriptions on the website.

These are 37 gr. rounds. A little lighter than standard 40 gr. but a little heavier than the real hyper velocity rounds.

Is the info right?

Details:
Is the info right?

In the info it says 3,050fps.
In my time the fastest .22lr ammo I have seen is 1,700fps.
Could the fps on this ammo be a misprint?
Or could the ammo be .22 WMR?

A:
22 Long Rifle - 1330 fps is fast
22 WMR - Winchester Mag - 1700-1850 fps

22 Hornet will shoot in that 3000 fps range!

Yea, it was a misprint. Most .22lr goes off at around 1200 - 1300 fps.

A:
I didn;t see where it said 3000+ fps, but it would have to be a mistake. These are a little over 1400 fps. Not the fastest out there, but on the high side of average. These are definately LR rounds, not WMR rounds though, they work well in anyhting chambered for .22 long rifle.

It would HAVE to be a misprint if it's on a box of .22LR shells. Even a .17HMR only goes 2550fps
