The whinchester knife was one of the most reliable knifes i have ever used. I bought mine about two years ago and i still love it for when i am in the feild. It's stainless steel blade never breaks and never wears. it cuts through a deer's hide like butter. it has as a wooden handle that is not lathered in varnish so that it doesnt slip out of your han. It is a great knife for the price. When i saw it i said for that price it must be terrible, but when i used it in the feild it was remarcable

This is really a first class knife. The low price bedevils the quality... one would think he is getting a cheaply produced product not so.
The steel is of one piece with the hard wood handle riveted securely... the heads of the rivets smoothed down, tight fitting... very secure.
Steel holds an edge very well and overall it is heavy enough to quarter a mule deer.
I bought mine about 5 years ago and it has been afield in Montana several times and is my basic all 'round utility knife from chopping kindling to dressing game.
Couldn't be more pleased.

this knife is prfect for me. it is heavy enough to use a a small chopping tool but ligh engough that it wont pull you pants down when it is on your side. the blade was surprisingly sharp, i cut my finger when i took it out of the box.
