Best shell for Cowboy Shooting These are the prefered shell for Cowboy Action Shooting! Low Recoil for faster second shots! August 10, 2007
The Wild West was never this tame! A must for all Cowboy Action shooters. Recoil is almost non-existant in my Stoeger Double. My daughter Bookkeeping Babe (5 feet tall) also uses it. She was afraid of the Shotgun until she tried this ammo! I hear it's great for Trap & Skeet too! My nationally ranked Sporting Clays friend recommended it to me for that. BUY IT!!! August 8, 2008
Excellent Shotshells While pricy, this shotgun ammo is a great choice for competition not requiring high velocity or for casual use if you want to reduce recoil. I use these for competing in SASS matches, I shoot a 12 gage coach gun and the light loads are excellent. Little recoil, yet I have no problems with the knockdown targets. I have also shot some clay with this ammo with no problems (at least not ammo related). The ammo is very reliable, I can't recall any failed shells. Obviously the low recoil would not be suitable for an auto shotgun and applications requiring high velocity ammo. May 7, 2014
BEST AVAILABLE I go through several cases of these each year. I use them for sporting clays as well as dove hunting. I guide in Central Texas and will go through several cases per season. Earlier review stated not for semi-automatic. Far from the truth. He should check his gun. I shoot auto loaders and this load never fails. When other hunters are having problems cycling cheaper shells through magnums, I give them these. Only thing that can stop this load from performaing is a dirty or worn out gun. Best load on the market. A little pricy, but with the rebate, worth every penny. June 2, 2012

I have heard that many low recoil shotgun shells are fine in a pump gun but don't have enough powder in them to cycle through a semiautomatic. Anybody care to weigh in?

It says right on the box that they are not recommended for autoloaders. Most semi automatic shotguns have less recoil than a pump, o/u or side by side anyway. Use these in anything but a semi auto as recommended.

works great every time I pull The trigger in my 2 weatherby SA08s with the light gas valve installed.
But have heard not so in some other auto loaders.

Yes this is very true. The powder in these low recoil shells are not enough to cycle the action of most semi autos. I tried them in a Browning Maxus and Beretta Urika and they would not cycle (the Beretta cycled every now and then, but not reliably). I would stay away from them with semi autos (they are great shells though other wise)
