Fly tying Bench I purchase two of them, one for my Wife and one for me. Much easier to keep every thing in one place and works great. It is well put together and makes tying fly's much easier and I use it for other lures as well. It is well put together and will hold up for years as I can see. March 10, 2014
Nice bench for the price Good size and nice design, with places for spools of thread and tools, and lots of "wells" for hooks and other hardware. I wish that the base had a coat of polyurethane or some other kind of sealer, as small clippings of thread, feathers or fibers tend to collect in the wells and stick to the wood a little. It makes cleaning the bench a little more difficult, but not a big deal. Overall, a very nice value for the price. November 17, 2014

Thank you for your inquiry. It is meant to be used as a sort of pin cushion to stick your bodkins or your finished flies.

How heavy is this bench?

Details:
I want to buy this White River Fly Shop® Two-Tone WR-Emerger Fly Tying Bench for my son to go with the new vise I bought him for Christmas that only comes with a clamp. He really wants a base for it rather than a clamp. I am concerned that this one may be too light and he will be flipping it over and dumping all of the supplies.

I have found it to be just right in weight. Its not heavy but not so light that you can turn it over. I use it when I go to Organ so it is easy to take with you .
