Rod and reel cases for 3 piece rods are difficult to find and I was pleased to find this one. I just got back from a 10 river float in Alaska and the rod case did an excellent job at protecting my rods and reels. My only complaint is that there are no dividers in the individual tubes to protect the rod pieces from rubbing together so I had to use rod socs which make it more difficult to store and remove rigged up rods.

This fly road case is excellent. It keeps the rod sections and reel together and will prevent any broken road tips. Great for travel.

This case is the second case from Bass that I bought. To date I own 4. They are well constructed, durable, and worth every penny to protect your fishing equipment. All 4 cases are double cases. I carry two different actions in each case.

...not sure I understand. If the case is capable of carrying a 9' rod, why the difference between 2,3 or 4 piece?
Is there compartments inside specifically for 2, 3 or 4 piece?

I was in the store today looking at these. Most any size will hold a 4 piece 9 foot rod. There are NO inside dividers or compartments. Unless you have a rod sock to shove in there, your rod will bounce around and get beat up. Bass Pro also sells a Redington case that DOES have the dividers and is much better.

I would think the single rod up to 9' 3 piece case would fit a 10' 4 piece rod as the rod sections on a 9' 3 piece are 3', and the rod sections on a 10' 4 piece are 2.5'.Answers

Yes, the doube case will fit two - four peice rods. There is a divider which will keep the rods seperate inside so they don't knock into each other during transportation. The same thing with the reels. Each has it's own reel compartment.A:
