Rated 4 out of 5 by ceckerson Great design BUT smaller than described
Let me start by saying I like this product BUT it is significantly smaller than the online product description.
The online description indicated 22" x 17" x 7-1/2".
The actual product is only 18" x 14-3/8" x 4-1/2". So there is a lot less work space than I expected.
(I might add that the shipping box isn't even as big as the online description. 20-1/2"x16-1/2"x6-1/2".)
In terms of design, this is one of the best tying stations I have seen. It is very functional. I should note, however, that there is not really a place to securely store larger items such as head cement, dubbing wax, hair stacker, or even hackle pliers. I solved this problem by fastening a bungee cord against the inside back surface with a few small screw eyes, and adding a hook for the hackle pliers.
The tying station looks nice. The two-toned wood is attractive. (I wish it was sanded better before it was finished, but it isn't bad.)

It actually was bigger than I expected which turned out to be a good thing. The video was very informative which I have reviewed a couple of times. My initial interest what to make tails for my bare treble hooks on my lures and it works great for that. However, I have found myself making some large flies for some brown trout and some small flies I am using for crappie fishing.
To put it in one sentence…the White River Fly Shop Journeyman Fly Tying Station has opened a whole new fishing opportunity and experience for me…oh…and I am using this on my ultra-light rod and reel.

Rated 4 out of 5 very practical but...
This fly tying station is very practical and handy. I recently moved from a house to a smaller condo, so my project space is somewhat limited. Using this portable station I can spend an evening tying at the kitchen table or living room desk, then gather up my "mess" and put it away on a closet shelf. I store my excess materials in several wooden cigar boxes, so this whole set-up is very portable for me. Everything then is out of sight for the wife and out of touch for the cat. This station is very well made and really attractive. The two-tone wood borders on lovely! My only complaint involves the attachment of a tying vise directly to this station, as it is made to do. The screw-in knobs are too short to secure my vice. An eighth of an inch longer and all would be fine. I had to modify the knob, using a rotary tool to mill down that eighth of an inch from the inside of the plastic knob. Now it works well, but I never should have had to do this in the first place. If one uses a clamp- or pedestal- mounted vice, this will not be an issue.

While it is a nice fly tying work the one I received has issues. The holes for the rods that hold the spools were drilled to different depths. Also, I can't tighten the vise because the threads on the knob are not long enough.
