I purchased this combo in a 8'6" 5wt 4piece that came with a rod case also. I have been very impressed with the castability of this rod. I have the reel in a 1-3wt also and love it. It holds plenty of line and has a good drag system that is easy to set and adjust. Will probably purchase another in a 7wt for bass fishing.

Bought the Hobbs Creek 7' 4 wt combo package as an inexpensive fly fishing set up to pan fish in our local creeks and streams. To my amazement this little rod is as good or better than some of my more expensive equipment I've purchased over the years. the IM-6 rod has a great feel and the reel has a drag system that is good as I've ever used. You can't go wrong with this combo at this price !!!

I attended the Bass Pro Fly Casting class (free). Thought I would give Fly fishing a try.
Got a 10% off coupon and used it to purchased this combo in a 6wt.. I didn't want to spend a lot of money just starting out, so the sales person suggested this set-up and Rigged it up for me, no extra charge. He was very knowledgeable and and gave me some tips for fresh water in my area. With all the knowledge still fresh in my mind I set out to give the Rig a whirl. It Was A Blast!! I caught Bream (Blue gill) just about every cast. This set up is Perfect. It cast well, it feels so good when you have a fish on, even a small fish is fun to fight. I highly recommend this set up to start fly fishing.
I Really enjoy it! Get one and start enjoying Life!

This is a very high quality fly combo for very little money. I won one of these review contests last year and used the gift card to buy a 4 wt. travel combo as a backup to my primary 4 wt. rod and reel. I was so impressed with it that I ordered a spare spool, one loaded with floating line and one with sinking line, and began using it as my primary 4 wt. fly outfit. The rod has a similar feel to my more expensive T.F.O. rod, and it looks great. I like the large arbor Hobbs Creek reel better than the mid arbor reel on my other rod. The available spare spools, priced at just $19.99, make this one of the best deals in fly fishing. I plan on buying more of these in different sizes.
