I am very happy with the rod. I have used it and landed a number of 4.5 to 5.5 pound Atlantic Salmon. The reel broke after being used only 5 times. The drag mechanism, which wasn't very effective, stopped working. I would not recommend this reel for moderate to serious flyfishers.

I have had problems with 2 of these rods. First one had stress cracks 6 inches or so from the tip(between the guides).......Cust. service was great in the Sevierville store, replaced the rod with no questions asked!!!! Thank you.
Then tonight....the rod snapped in roughly the same area...while fighting a stocker rainbow in Gatlinburg.
OK......2 wasted trips.
Was thinking about the 5 ft classic.......I think i am changing my mind.
Love Bass Pro and the staff here locally. White river needs some help.

this rod could be 5 times the price it is and still be worth it. it fishes great, has plenty of power, and looks stunning

Rated 5 out of 5Â by TheZephyr Better than redington crosswater
I am a beginner/intermediate fly-fisherman and I recently snapped the comparable redington crosswater rod/reel combo. I decided to try this outfit instead of purchasing the redington again. The feel of the rod is superior to the redington's! I could not believe the difference! The redington's rod was too stiff. If you are looking for a beginner's fly-fisherman outfit choose this one over the redington crosswater! The reel was also superior, all around better buy.
