I got my rob in today and i caught my first big bass on it. It was 3 1/2 lbs and i was on a floatable so it took me for a ride and it was a fight. Well worth what i paid for it.

Rated 1 out of 5 worst rod I've bought
I bought this product online, when I finally received it the rod itself was broken in the sleeve. I went to a store and replaced it, which there was no fuss, which was good. After getting home from work 3 weeks later, I put the rod and reel together to go fishing. Running the line through the guides appears to have been to much, holding the rod with three fingers, not bending, only guiding the line, the rod broke. There was virtually no pressure on it whatsoever. Bad blanks perhaps, but after two rods with the same broken end, I see a pattern that I will not continue.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Kerr Best deal in the store!
I decided to finally try fly fishing about a month ago (June '10) and went to Bass Pro Shops in Foxboro, MA. This outfit was recommended to me as the best deal "in the whole store" by the gentleman working in the fly shop that day. I have since had more fun with this outfit than I have ever had in all my years of bait and lure fishing - seriously. Learning how to cast is really satisfying and this outfit hasn't let me down. I have caught mainly largemouth bass, large blugills, a few smallmouth and a fiesty pickerel. As soon as the weather cools and the rain gets the streams flowing again I hope to catch my first trout. Until then I'll be having a blast on the lake!

Rated 4 out of 5Â by khurley Excellent combo
I bought this combo about 3 years ago and have loved it ever since.
I chose the 5wt 8'6" setup and i have found that it is great for pond/lake fishing for bass and bream. I also got in a small river last weekend and pulled in plenty of little ones...The rod/reel did great - however for big fun on the small rivers going for 1lb fish and under - I am suggesting a 7' 4wt...I think I will buy this next.

Yes you can. Follow directions inside the box. The retaining spring is tricky to put back in though. But mine came in left hand retrieve from the factory. It's a great reel. Silent retrieve and audible drag.Details:Â
I broke the smallest diameter 4th segment of my Hobbs Creek 5 weight 8ft 6 inch 4 piece rod. DO you sell the replacement segment?Answers
A:Â
We do not sell the sections only. If your rod was purchased with the last year, we can replace the rod under our warranty service (which covers Bass Pro branded rods for one year from the original date of purchase). If the rod is older than one year, you may contact our Outdoor World Rod and Reel repair department to see if they may be able to repair the rod for you. I looking for a good all around rod lenght. Ill be fishing creeks for trout, and also rivers for bass. Should i go with the 7'6" or 8'6"?Answers
A:Â
I will go for a 8'6 it better for bas and plus it have a greater sensibility to detect the trout when it bitesA:Â
8'6" will help with longer casts. Also with windy conditions ( once you learn how to cast).Answers
A:Â
Most rods are 1 cm or around that but it depends of the the number of rod and is not really important dimeter that first section is the most strong part of the rodDetails:Â

Im a beginner to fly fishing. I'll be fishing some small to medium size streams to middle size lake and meduim size ponds. What length will be the best to use?Answers
A:Â
I will go for 8'6 or 9 length with 6 weight lineit will be good for the lakes if you get some thing bigger it will resist and it will not take you difficult fight for big fish on lake plus it will have good sensibility to recognize when you have a fish on the hook
A:Â
8'6" would be the most versatile. 5 wt.
