Rated 5 out of 5Â by wncfisherman1 so happy with this purchase!
I bought this fly rod based on reference from a friend and reviews online. I can without a doubt say its all that it says it is and is quality crafted. The Hobbs creek fly reel is very nice. Very smooth. The drag seems a little variable. Either too much or switches quickly to nothing. I need to figure that out I guess. But I casted a nymph rig and it roll casts like a charm. I got a great hook set on my fish and the rod casts fast. Great for a novice like myself. A great buy and quality as well. I've got a 9 ft. 5 wgt. I will by from this company again.

This was the first rod I bought and it has exceeded my every expectation. I have tried some other rods both more and less expensive but this one is by far the best value. I would recommend it to any new or experienced fly fisherman.

I had been away from fly fishing for over thirty years when an injury to my left shoulder left me with minimal use of my left arm. My bass and muskie rods were of no use to me any more. So, I tried to fly fish again, and I could do it, and I loved it. My old fly outfit was dated and in rough shape, so I bought this outfit in the 8.5 ft. - 5 wt. model. I took it out to a local lake for a try. I soon had picked up my casting technique to a servicable level. The rod performed extremely well casting for small bass, bluegills, and readear. The reel is excellent, and sure a far cry from the old models I had used thirty years ago. My son bought me a hard case for the rod with the reel attached. I would like to see BPS sell a bundled outfit of this model that included the hard case. My conclusion, whats not to like. I'm not sure why anyone would spend another 100 to 500 dollars more for a flyrod outfit, but if you got it, it's OK with me if you want to spend it. Money spent on fishing is never wasted. That said, I couldn't like this rod any more.

Yes you can. Follow directions inside the box. The retaining spring is tricky to put back in though. But mine came in left hand retrieve from the factory. It's a great reel. Silent retrieve and audible drag.Details:Â

I looking for a good all around rod lenght. Ill be fishing creeks for trout, and also rivers for bass. Should i go with the 7'6" or 8'6"?Answers
A:Â
I will go for a 8'6 it better for bas and plus it have a greater sensibility to detect the trout when it bitesA:Â
8'6" will help with longer casts. Also with windy conditions ( once you learn how to cast).Answers

Most rods are 1 cm or around that but it depends of the the number of rod and is not really important dimeter that first section is the most strong part of the rodDetails:Â

Im a beginner to fly fishing. I'll be fishing some small to medium size streams to middle size lake and meduim size ponds. What length will be the best to use?Answers
A:Â
I will go for 8'6 or 9 length with 6 weight lineit will be good for the lakes if you get some thing bigger it will resist and it will not take you difficult fight for big fish on lake plus it will have good sensibility to recognize when you have a fish on the hook
A:Â
8'6" would be the most versatile. 5 wt.
