To help you reach that goal, the folks at White River Fly Shop® have created this series of fly-tying kits that include everything you'll need to learn how to tie your favorite flies - including a FREE instructional DVD featuring Lefty Kreh! Versus buying components and tools separately this is a much cheaper alternative, then throw in the dvd. My kit did come with everything I need to tie the flies Lefty and Mike instruct on the video, including hooks. If I get seriously into tying I expect to upgrade the vise to a rotational model, but I think upgrading is to be expected of tools in a starter kit. I do like that I didn't have to try to figure out what the materials were in order to buy them to learn to tie the flies. Looks like enough material for several flies of each kind covered in the dvd.

I've been having a blast with this kit! All of the tools you need to get started in fly tying are included as well as a very ample amount of materials. The instructional video is top-notch and the instructor is very easy to follow. I've made all of the flies from the video and I am including a photo of a collection of some of my own patterns I've created since then. It's a great hobby for any fishing enthusiast and this kit is fantastic, I highly recommend this as a purchase for yourself or as a gift for any of your fellow anglers!

The vise clamps on the side of a table or bench that is up to 1 3/4 inches thick The entire kit is contained in a single box with the vise, bobbin, hackle pliers and bodkin contained in an inner box4 months, 3 weeks ago

The entire kit comes in a tidy little box with everything you need to start tying flies. The vise is a clamp style with enough adjustment built into it to attatch to almost any table or work bench. the quality of the kit is top notch and the value is great! You'll really enjoy this kit, mine is almost 2 years old and still works like new after tying more than a thousand flies!Answers

Short answer - No. Not unless you take the hook out of the vise and re-set your "grip angle"4 months, 3 weeks ago
A:Â
No, once the fly is clamped, the angle is static. Rotating will change the angle of the fly or loosen the jaws. This is not a rotary vise.A:Â
Not the way a rotating vise does but yes you can rotate the vise.Answers
