White River Fly Shop® Fly / Spin Rod and Reel Combo
Mostly good value
Bought this spin/fly combo for a week long family vacation in the mountains. Gear looked to be decent quality for a bargain price. Things went well until I went to set the drag on the spinning reel. It would set to either about 1 pound or 6 pounds (estimate) with nothing in between. Since it came loaded with 6 lb line, you either had no control over the fish or is was dangerously close to breaking the line. Attempts to set the drag in between resulted in the drag self loosening.
Too bad, all the other components seemed decently well made and functioned well enough. Fix the drag on the spinning reel and this combo would be a winner.

Good Beginner Rod
this is a good rod for beginners. according to another user the rod snaps when casted and the spinning reel breaks in a week. NOT TRUE, i have used it for almost a year now and nothing has broken. very good quality for the price. in the picture it looks like a pretty strong rod, but notice they tell you its a 5/6 weight rod. it is hardely a 4 weight. you could probably reel in a 2.5 lb fish at most. i still use it but have only caught small one pounders. if you are a beginner or dont have much expierience get this rod, great price and its like two rods without the space or struggle, but if your a moderate or expert fly fisherman i would recommend going with a REAL 5/6 weight rod, especially if your fishing for bass like me.

I've caught all kinds of fish on this rod but in the middle of your cast part of the rod flies off. also the spinning reel breaks within a week. but on the other hand the rod still works great and lasts a long time

Great blue line fishing
I bought this and put in the back of my truck as a spare. Then when I took my kids to the local city lakes I would kick back and watch them actually working as a team. One son would put worms on whikle the other son removed thier little sisters fish. Decided to play with them, this combo was fun to use. Afternoon toss a bubble bee fly until I caught one of their little Perches. Now I will teach thier little sister how to Fly fish with this set-up.
