recently purchased a 4 wt 7ft. rod and couldnt wait to try it out. what a great rod. this rod performed flawlessly both casting and fighting fish. i really can't see why anyone would spend more money on rods of this size.

I was looking for an affordable fly rod that would perform similarly to the pflueger that i had broken recently. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this rod actually outperformed my old one in distance and action. Definitely worth buying

Rated 5 out of 5 by HBGFisherman Excellent rod for small streams
I purchased the 7'6" 5wt for a smaller local stream about 2 years ago at my local Bass Pro. The rod has performed great and has become not only my small stream go-to rod, but I'm also now using it to help my son learn fly fishing. I'm also considering a 9' 7wt for small steelhead (also have a 10' 8wt White River Classic for the winter run).

Size is not all that important when it comes to fly fishing. It is all about timing and technique. With a little practice you could handle any rod from 7' to 15'. Depending on where you intend to do most of your fishing an 8' or 8'6" 5 to 7 weight rod should fit about any venue on freshwater (and some brackish water as well).A:
