Rated 5 out of 5Â by Greatoutfit Great All Around Combo
I purchased this outfit about 4 years ago as an upgrade from my old combo. I can tell you I live in Branson and I fish with this rod below the Tablerock Dam. Somedays I'll catch 20 trout on this outfit from nymphing to drifting a dry fly down the current. This rod covers it all. This is a great quality, durable fly reel and it comes at a great price. The line and backing are also great quality and easy to cast. Even for beginners.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Bryan Great Value for a Quality Rod
This is the rod I chose to learn Fly Fishing, and thus far I have not been disappointed. I would recommend the 5 weight rod, which works great for Bluegill and Bass alike. I like the action on the rod, and have recommended it to everyone I know who would like to learn Fly Fishing without spending a fortune.

It's a good starter pole, I got it and was very satisfied of how sensitive it is to small fish, and for big fish.

Size is not all that important when it comes to fly fishing. It is all about timing and technique. With a little practice you could handle any rod from 7' to 15'. Depending on where you intend to do most of your fishing an 8' or 8'6" 5 to 7 weight rod should fit about any venue on freshwater (and some brackish water as well).A:Â
Our OutdoorSite library features an excellent article by Mike Huffman on selecting your fly rod. You can read how to do so by going to the following links:http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/s...
