An excellent choice for the average angler. This reel has both good looks and durability. It has great feel and is very smooth. I have used it on several trips without the first problem thus far. A great buy for the recreational fly fisherman.

My wife bought this reel as a gift for me. I'm new to flyfishing and this has been the perfect starter reel. Easy to learn on and very forgiving. Would recommend to anyone just getting into the sport or to seasoned pros looking for a good backup reel.

well i love this reel overall i used it for what seens like forever but i was dissapointed that they did not offer any spare spools for this reel. I would like to see bass pro offer spare spools because i realy need one and i dont want to buy a whole new reel!!! thanks

I have used this reel for about three seasons now on a 6wt rod. The reel is a good starter for someone just learning to fly fish.

I bought the white river dc56 combo and it works great.I had to take the reel apart because the line got stuck underneath, when I took the cap off the top with the two screws a small v shaped piece of metal was loose. It is longer on one side than the other, I assume this holds the spool on. I am not sure there is also a flat curved piece of metal that sits on a raised circle.

it came out of the package and i looked it over and tried the drag and it was super hard to move. went to try to change the drive system from left to right and that was a pain.Answers

if you take the reel of of the body and it looks like somthing is brocken or out of place you muct take the reel in for repair. |I have had this happen to me before and in the end i had to buy a new reel because the part was my problem for breaking it.Details:Â
Before I loaded the reel I switch it to left hand retrieve. The problem is that it free spools when I strip and creates a birds nest.Answers

You will have to take the hole line off and than respool it all back on to change it from left to right! Found this out the hard way as you did.A:Â
