White River Fly Shop® Dogwood Canyon® Disc Drag Fly Reel
The Texas state record freshwater redfish on fly tackle was taken with a Dogwood Canyon Fly Reel (12 lbs./ Steve Guzman). Rugged all-metal construction, disc drag, and rimmed, counterbalanced spool rounds out a list of features common to much more expensive reels. Just because you're on a budget, it doesn't mean you have to fish with junk. Whether it's part of your first fly outfit, or a backup reel, the Dogwood Canyon will deliver years of smooth, trouble-free performance.

Haven't had time to use the fly reel as it is the dead of winter and stream fishing is closed. But the reel seems to be a very well made product. Was very easy to switch over to left handed operation. C an't wait to try it out.

I bought this reel for my 9 ft steelhead fly rod. It looks good and is large enuf to hold an 8 weight flyline and plenty of backing. Unfortunately I will not be fishing for steelhead for a while so i will not know how the reel performes until the summer when I use this rig for stripe bass in the salt water

This reel came with the package that included the 7" 4wt. rod. It does fine although when I reel in the line and leader after fishing invariably the tippet will get stuck in the gears behing the spool. It is an easy fix but can be annoying when you are anxious to get on the stream the next time.

I bought the white river dc56 combo and it works great.I had to take the reel apart because the line got stuck underneath, when I took the cap off the top with the two screws a small v shaped piece of metal was loose. It is longer on one side than the other, I assume this holds the spool on. I am not sure there is also a flat curved piece of metal that sits on a raised circle.
Thanks for all the help.
