Great Creel The creel is great. It works very well. I use it when fly fishing on rivers and streams in NY. Like other reviewers I wish it had at least one compartment to store additional gear. April 13, 2012
great item I had been dragging a plastic shopping bag to the trout streams - not convienient! This creel makes fishing much more fun. A couple outside pockets would make it better. April 12, 2011
Fishing Creel This creel is just fair. It is okay for holding your catch, but you must carry all tackle in another box, pouch or other means as there is no pockets in this one. September 28, 2010
Good value There are plenty of more expensive versions of these. These keep fish cool when you wet the outside. Easy to clean. Just works. September 11, 2012

Probably silly question. I bought to keep trout fresh on the river. It says keep wet. Do you need ice or do you just put the fish in there and dunk it in the water every now and then?

A:
They should be kept wet while in use by simply dipping them in the water.
There are weep holes in the bottom to allow excess water to drain out after
dipping into the water.
There is also a screen print on the front of this item that states - "Keep wet while in use "

Its just a big pouch. Theres a buckle for security, but it also has 2 velcro spots to keep it closed. So it never just flies open.

The creel has a snap and velcro. You do not have to snap and unsnap it every time as it has velcro. If you are fishing for feisty fish, like some of the trout I used it for, it was nice to have the additional quick release buckle.

No exterior pockets. It would be nice to have a few small ones for holding hook packages. but theres a couple of plastic loops i was able to make use out of.

I like it. Check out my review. Shoulder strap is adjustable. Pretty sturdy. If i didnt fill the Creel with Water bottles or too may fish i could wear it for long periods of time. Super easy to use. I fit in 3 watter bottles and my worm container and a fishing reel. When i hit the water all that stuff would be wet since its at waist level. But this Creel will sink. Holes in the bottle for water flow. NO POCKETS. Just one big pouch.
