This is the future of combat fishing! Veteran bass, pike, muskie, and snook anglers know this isn't a game of long rods and high line capacity. It's a knife fight in a closet with a Hell's Angel. Stuff happens very fast. Precise fly placement and instant pulling power spell the difference between landing the fish of a lifetime and a history lesson. At 7' 10", the 10 weight handles effortlessly all day, throwing rabbit mops and coneheads. Now you're packing an anti-tank weapon that handles like a BB gun. Features include a travel-friendly 4-piece design and high-tech, non-slip, P-Tec composite grips. Complete HEAT Fly Outfits: include the 7' 10" HEAT Fly Rod of your choice, a #7/8 size Hobbs Creek® Fly Reel, White River Fly Shop® Bass Taper Fly Line, Dacron® backing, and leader.

A:
With the 8 wt line you would want to use the 7/8 reel as you will match the line with your reel for better casts. The 7/8 reel will cast heavier flies than the 5/6.
