Its a very nice rod to my opinion This rod is actually a very good rod, I have had my 7wt since the beginning of the trout season and I've gotten a lot of beautiful steelheads on it and its been holding up very well against them. I have also caught a bunch of suckers on it and still had no problem. I paired it up with a Hobbs Creek Large Arbor Fly Reel. I truly think that even with all the bad reviews this rod has on its shoulders its still by far my favorite rod. April 19, 2010
junk rods I have a White River CV2 9' 8wt 5-pc fly rod. This is my second one. The first one broke while landing a good sized rainbow trout. I had trouble at the store returning it. They said I had a one yr free replacement on that item. It took me an hr to get it because they said i had to pay a difference in price sincethey didn't have a direct replacement. So I finally got it done. Went fishing yesterday and broke that one while trying to land a 10" rainbow. I have pics for the proof. I do not recomend purchasing iny of the White River rods. Im takin this one back and I'm going to have them change it out for a different brand. I will never own another one. May 9, 2010
Snappy! I bought my little guy a White River Hobbs Creek 8' 4wt and we had lots of fun with it until it snapped at the tip while retrieving about a 14" fish. We took it back and asked for a beefer rod... this is when I got him a Classic 8' 4wt. We took it out for the FIRST time and were having a great time catching lots of the 8"-10" brookies when it snapped just below the middle joint while casting!!! I took it back and had no problem returning. I then asked for a rod that wasn't too expensive, but included a Lifetime warrenty. We got a TFO for $149. Spend the extra for the piece of mind! My experience with the White River Rods has unfortunitely not been very good! August 7, 2009
Simply a Workhorse Rod This rod is has been my workhorse rod for the past 5-6 years. I primarily use it for Panfish and small Largemouth Bass. It performs exceptionally well for me. It's got the right action for a quick set and my 4wt has landed 5lb'ers with no problems. The dozen or so times I've taken it to the mountains ir has performed equally well. Often out performing my much more expensive Sage. I prefer this rod to everything that I have tried that I can afford. A great buy, especially for the price. June 14, 2008

I just purchased a 5 wt 8'6" TFO for $149. Fairly stiff and fast and comes with a lifetime warrenty! It isn't a Sage TCR, but for the price it has been a good rod!
