Bought a 10wt 9' WR Classic rod for fall salmon here in Michigan. Great price when it was on clearance, looked great, felt good. That was until I got my first salmon on. Set the hook, fought for less than 5 seconds, fish got off. When I reeled up, the top foot of the rod had snapped off. If you know fly fishing, you know that a 10wt is somewhat oversized for salmon. A 9wt is sufficient. Obviously I wont be using one of these again.

I used the 6'9" rod about a dozen times, and it broke in the middle of the middle section. I was just pulling out some line from the end, when it bent in the middle. I would not recommend purchasing this fly rod.

I recently puchased this rod in a 10 wt 9 ft and have only been able to practice cast with it. The rod allows me to cast as well as my 10 wt 9 ft TFO.
I like how the reel seat is made of carbon fibre not wood anymore making this sutable for salt water use now. The rod has alot of backbone with flex at the tip making it suitable for casting 10 wt line with ease. The future will only tell of its durability and so will I. Untill then tight lines.

This is a good rod, I’ve taken a lot of large sockeye (upwards of 30 lbs) and a few nice 4-7 lbs rainbows on it and its been doing great against them. Also caught upwards of 25 Pollack with it in salt outside of Homer AK this summer. I think that even with some the bad reviews the FOUR-piece type is a nice rod, very light, very sensitive and stays together well with good flex at tip.
