The Smokey Mountain's rust-resistant aluminum fuel door provides easy access to the charcoal chamber and water pan while cooking. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Smoker, Easy to use I bought this on the recommendation of a friend who owns two of these. I was concerned about the 18.5" size but after putting it together I found it has plenty of space. It's simple to use and maintaining the temperature is easy. I've always been a propane BBQ guy but using this smoker now has me hooked on charcoal and wood chunks. I would recommend getting a charcoal chimney, quality meat thermometer, and a good book of smoking recipes too. January 7, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by So good I got 2 They might not be as cheap as the other vertical smokers or as sexy as the large offset style smokers, but as far as producing a great BBQ with ease, you can't beat a WSM. Fill the charcoal ring, add a few wood chunks, drop about 15 lit pieces in the middle, and the WSM will hold temps at 225-250 for a good 15 hours without much fussing if any. Try doing that on a cheaper vertical or offset. December 4, 2012

Yes, it comes with a cover. Its actually pretty nice for coming with the unit. I bought the better one because I can see the included cover breaking down if left in the sun.

Yes there is a cover included with the smoker. There is a video on youtube that someone posted of himself unpacking his smoker just in case you were that curious

Essentially the smoker comes in 3 sections: bottom, middle, and lid. I used my smoker twice before emptying the ashes. I just removed the lid and middle section and dumped the ashes into a trash bag. Its as easy as dumping out a paper shredder. Takes 10 seconds. good luck.

close all vents to extinguish the coals and let cool overnight. Separate sections, remove charcoal ring and charcoal grate, then dump ashes in a trash bag or dedicated area in the yard or woods.

First, make sure the smoker is cool and coals are totally extinguished. Remove the cooking and charcoal grates. Then remove the ashes that are in the bottom bowl. Thanks
