Rated 5 out of 5 by JJustin Quality Semi-Auto Shotgun
I went into the BPS this year and told the guy I wanted a decent semi-auto. I didn't want to pay an arm and a leg, but I didn't want to buy trash either. He pointed me straight to this gun immediately. Boy was he right. This is a quality semi-auto (especially for the price). This gun comes with two different pistons; heavy and light, which is really cool. I usually keep the heavy on there, but I've had it struggle to eject ONE type of dove shell EVER. It took me about 45 seconds to change the piston, and it started spitting them out no problem. Not only would I recommend this gun to a friend, I have. He hunts with it too and loves it.
I told the BPS guy when I bought it that I would probably upgrade in a few years. I would now like to retract that statement. I'm not sure why I would ever need to get a different gun.

Rated 5 out of 5 by John08 Great Shotgun!!!
I purchased this Weatherby after considering the SA-08 and the Stoeger 2000. The fit and finish and overall quality feel of the Weatherby is what ultimately led to me purchasing this gun and I could not be happier. The day after buying the gun I took it to a sporting clays course and shot a 100 round course plus a 5 stand without a single issue and amazing accuracy, true Weatherby quality! You can't go wrong with this gun. The last shot lock back is also a great feature to comply with the open action rule when not in the shooter's box...can not wait for turkey season!

Rated 5 out of 5 by APKurt So far it's been perfect
So far I've put about 2000 rounds through my SA-08 and it's performed absolutely flawlessly. In fact, while my SA-08 has cycled perfectly I've seen my buddies' more expensive Browning and Remington semi-autos occasionally failing to eject shells. This is probably down to the dual valve system which allows the SA-08 to cycle light and heavy loads equally well. I thought having dual valves might be a pain to deal with, but the valves can literally be changed out in a few seconds. The synthetic version is not a "pretty" shotgun but the fit and finish appears excellent. I couldn't be more satisfied. Great shotgun and an even better value.

I was in the market a few years ago for a new semi. I didn't want to buy another 1187, I'll never own another mossberg semi, and have never really been impressed with the super black eagles. I did a lot of research about this gun beore I bought it. I've had it for 2 years and couldn't be happier with it. It's light, handles great and has low recoil for being one of the lightest shotguns on the market. I have well over 1,000 rounds through it without a single problem. The recycle time is incredible and it will chewup and spit out any type of shot you put in it. I've used it for waterfowl, clays, squirrel and turkey.

I've put some pretty cheap shells through this gun when messing around. You definitely need to put the light piston on to do so or they won't eject. But, I've found that it is better to shoot shells that are 1300 fps or faster. As the gun breaks in, it will have an easier time cycling cheaper/lighter/slower shells too.A:
I have tried Federal gun club and Winchester the cheapest and there was no problem, also tried my own reloads and worked perfect. it's a real work-horse, have changed the trigger because of the recall but there was no problems on the change and the new trigger was back in 1 weekAnswers

If you're looking to put some glass on top, no it doesn't come drilled and tapped. A gun smith could do that for you, but I don't think it's worth the money. I have a fiberoptic sight on the end of mine that lights up the target.Details:
