This round is a RIFLE cartridge. The makers of AR-15s have come out with something called a pistol, but it is a cut down version of a rifle. It still has to have about a 10 in. barrel to develope enough velocity to get it out of the barrel and on target. They also have a buffer tube sticking out of the back of the receiver. It does not make a good pistol or rifle in this configuration. You might find a BFR series pistol to fire these. That is a huge single action revolver from the old West days, but it is still not a very good choice compared to some other designs. Savage arms makes/made a bolt action pistol a few years back that fired rifle ammo. These are more of a novelty to most.1 of 1
