Rated 4 out of 5Â by chiefpd7 Great, but
I like them and for the price would recommend them; however, I agree that you have to be careful of your setting on the range. Don't set them to listen for sounds yards away. If someone gets close and yells you might as well be shooting without them It hurts.
Second, I don't like the on-off switches. More than one time I have put them down only to find out that something or someone bumped them (usually on the ride out to or from the range) and found that they had turned themselves on and drained the battery. Now, everytime I pass by them I pick them up and check the on-off switch. Walker's should change out the switch so it takes a bit more effort to turn them on.

I've had a little time to play around with these muffs now and have a good, but not outstanding opinion of them. The concept is revolutionary.....able to talk with your range buddy while shooting can occur around you at any moment. I do have some reservation about the sound enhancement. Yes, they do have variable sound enhancement control but you have to be careful when they are turned up beyond the lower levels or you'll get unpleasent surprises like when you chair squeaks or someone shouts because they're not wearing similar muffs. Man, that can hurt!! Longer range listening is a bust unless things around you are quite because you're magnifying ALL sounds around you.....even the ones you don't care about. I never knew there were so MANY crickets around my place!! I'd strongly recommend listening devices with directional control of the sound pickup mike. But overall, they're a great investment for going to the range or still hunting, just watch the volume control. And the batteries are easy to jar loose such that they're not making good connection as well.
