A MUST HAVE FOR DOWNRIGGERS I HAVE USED SEVERAL TYPE OF DOWNRIGGER RELEASES AND THESE, BY FAR ARE THE EASIEST AND MOST RELIABLE TO USE. May 19, 2011
Great Product I purchased 2 of these items 18 months ago in the Las Vegas shop. I have now used them in a number of occasions, with thicker and finer lines, and found the performance of this simple product amazing. I have had instances where my downrigger bomb got caught in amongst trees and snags and still, after pulling hard to let the bomb loose, I've been able to retrieve them without a problem. The release works better than any other I ever tried. Never fails and it's never a false release! With some other clips I had fish taking the lure and the line never got released from the clip. As I'm terrified that one day I may loose one, I'm buying a few more to stash them away. I wouldn't use any other clip after trying this. February 11, 2007
downrigger releaseses I have used rubber bands, clip type releasese and I feel these walker releases are the best you can get adjust the tension from light to heavy and the more rapps you put on it the harder it is to break off so you can run it deeper. and with a flip of your pole you can pop it off and change lures. Appears to work This one actually releases the lure when it hangs up or a fish hits it. A lot of the others are very hard to rig. We'll see how durable it is. I've heard of the guts being pulled out of them by hard hitting fish. April 27, 2012
