Basically a volume enhancement device and works very effectively when no competing sound is around.
Conversation in a quiet car or room is excellent.
conversation in a busy restaurant or room with lots of background noise not so good. .

I lost my twelve hundred dollar hearing aid and have been having problems. Got a Hunter's Ear and I can hear the telly again. What a relief.

At increased volumn levels there is a shrill noise, high pitch squeal. Since you then must lower the volumn control you end up with a lot of constant static noise. The only way to eliminate the static noise is to lower the volumn to a point where you might as well turn it off and put it in your rut sack.
It is also very difficult keeping it in your ear, especially if your wear glasses. Even without glasses it continually works it way out of your ear so that you must constantly re-adjust the fit.
Additionally it can just fall off. It took me over an hour in the bitter cold to find it after it feel off.
