It depends of the size of the diver and the amount of line you put out. i.e if you use a magnum size dipsy trolling and put out 100ft of line, the diver goes down to about 80ft.

I use a Magnum size (biggest one) to troll at depths of 75 ft - 150 ft. It's heavier, but you dont need to put out so much line to get it down there.For depths less than that, I would use a medium size 40ft - 80ft
