Big results in small package I purchased my rangefinder two weeks before archery season this year. The first day shooting targets I realized I was really gonna like the belt clip it's equipped with. It allows me to clip it to my pack, belt, pocket or wherever I want. On my archery hunt it function very well in the field allowing me to range and harvest a bull. The down side to this unit is that when ranging targets in cover you have to take multiple shots to get the correct range. Sometimes long range targets will range wrong if you don't have a steady hand and clear target. Bottom line - I like the product better than others that I've had. Four out of five stars because of the overall usability and price. November 8, 2014
Perfect Range Finder I'm in a position that I get to test out quite a few different optics. Most of them have marginal differences between models and manufacturers. But, the Ranger 1000 range finder truly takes the cake compared to others out there. Not only does it give range to target effectively and consistently, but the red HUD separates it from the pack. Most HUDs out there are gray/black and don't show up well on dark surfaces or dusk/dawn hours. And if that weren't enough, it has the VIP warranty that says I'll never have to worry about it. It has become my go-to tool to range targets. December 4, 2014
Nothing but the best! I recently purchased this rangefinder and I could not be more satisfied! I have used this from from the high country elk hunting, to the desert where huge mule deer call home. Every time I have pushed that button a crystal clear view of the intended target and extremely reliable and precise readings every time no matter if its 100 degrees or -10 I never have to question this product. It is super easy to understand and program. The metal clip that it has is very strong and handy for securing without the use of a lanyard. I HIGHLY recommend this product to everyone. I am hoping to purchase a pair of binoculars from vortex and if they are as good as the rangefinder they will have me as a forever customer. November 24, 2014
Love how easy it is to use. I needed a range finder plain and simple. Looked at other brands and couldnt really put my finger on one that stood out. I already owned a few Vortex items, a scope and bino's. And when this range finder came out i had to give it a shot. I love how easy it is to use, click the measuring button twice and you are ranging. The red digital displays and cross hair really stand out against most backgrounds making this thing easy to use. I dont use this for long distance sniper shooting, its for hunting and i love that it compensates range for uphill/downhill shots. Really well built product as most of the Vortex lines are and you cant beat that warranty. August 14, 2013
