I bought the Ranger after purchasing a Bushnell 1200 that would not focus the display and the field of view. I returned it and got the Vortex for less money and the performance was outstanding. Another thing I noticed is that the Ranger has the same Lifetime warranty as their scopes. No one else does this that I know of.

I made the mistake of purchasing another brand of range finder and was never happy with the end product it had a variety of problems. I talked with a friend about his Vortex rangefinder and to my surprise it was the same price I had paid for my range finder. I owned other Vortex optics and was very happy with them.
I went out and purchased the R1000 and have been using it ever since. Sure wish I would have purchased the Vortex rangefinder instead of the other brand at the beginning.
