Rated 5 out of 5Â by easyrhino great scope
I had never used a Vortex product before. After reading the reviews i decided to try the Diamondback. I have always used Nikon products. After a comparison with the Nikon Prostaff, I think the Vortex is brighter and clearer. i have not compared with the other Nikon models. I have since bought another Vortex Diamondback. The Vortex warranty was a big reason i tried the product.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Marconi Outstanding quality/clear image up to x12/price..
I almost bought a Nikon 4x12 40 Prostaff BDC, since the quality come very -very close with Leupold VX1 4x12 40 brand, but the price was $80-$110 higher, than Vortex and Nikon.. Then I was inclined to go for VX2 3x9 40 which was a little higher quality, but still $80-$110 in between the Vortex and Nikon.. I was not sure about the quality of the Vortex very much but I knew that they are a very good products.. One sale associate told me to look through the glass of one of the Vortex and compare the quality in between all three of them.. All I can say is that I was very surprised to see that the Vortex 4x12 40 BDS has a VERY crystal clear view even at x12.. I have to admit that the hair lines are thin, but that does not bother me at all, and that also can be an advantage for the long distance targets, since those lines can bother your eye looking at.. I attached this Vortex scope at my recently purchased Remington 700 SPS .308.. Put 50 rounds on 01/15/2013 through my rifle and the scope performed very well being set on x12 without any issues, and at 50 yards indoors range.. Same performance outside at bright light.. I think Trijicon and Swarovski are way very costly and do the same thing in the end, bottom line.. I am glad I purchased the Vortex and for $199.99 I think I got a very good scope, being very competitive with other high in brands..

JUNK!!! Crosshair is too fine and the BDC marks cannot be seen. Scope is not as clear as my Bushnell Banner. Sorry Vortex but you are not making the quality of scope your reputation insinuates.

Not only did I effortlessly take two very nice bucks this year, but out shot a buddy and his Leupold at 375 yards. Bulls eye on an 8" and a 4" hardened steel targets with 20 mph crosswinds. 1/2" to 1" MOA's! For the performance the Vortex is way under priced!
