This easy to use truck accessory helps you haul extra long loads by adding four feet to the length of your truck's bed. This durable steel support system fits any standard 2'' hitch receiver to help you haul lumber, pipe, ladders, canoes, kayaks, full sheets of plywood or drywall, or any other long cargo. Angled support shaft gives maximum stability to reduce up and down sway during transport. Features multiple tie-down holes and upright end supports to help keep your load secure and stable in transport. The upright supports extend out to four feet in width to accommodate wide materials. Convenient design also allows you to convert this to a roof-level support rack in two easy steps to secure long rooftop cargo, keeping your bed free for other cargo so you can haul more! Extender comes with four support safety clips for secure attachment, reflective tape on the sides and end and a red flag for added visibility and safety. Dimensions: 35'' x 21'' x 2-1/2''. Hitch pin not included.
Manufacturer model #: UH500200.

I bought this product to use on my truck for a move down to Florida. When I first put it on it was a bit loose, but then I tied it down to the safety chain loops on the hitch and had no problems. Great product.

We recently purchased a 16' canoe. One problem with this, the truck bed is only 8' with the tailgate down. BPS has the best bed extender for my money. The other units I checked into did not have the "field goal" uprights on the extender unit. The BPS bed extender is perfect for hauling our large canoe without needing to purchase a trailer.

I've seen a similar one that supports weights up to 350lbs. Is this comparable?Answers

It’s difficult to say exactly how much weight the carrier will hold because of the fact that it’s a fulcrum from the front of the truck to the back. It will hold generally between 500 and 750 lbs. of distributed weight capacity. That is, the cargo needs to be distributed equally and secured between the cab-rack and the carrier so all of the weight is not resting on the carrier. from UriahDetails:Â
This would be great but how do you secure the load on the roof when used in the upright position? Is there a compatible bar to secure the load on the roof for those of us with no roof rack? I have seen one with similar products but nothing is suggested here. Maybe it should be...Answers

You could use a type of rack made from manufactures like Yakima or Thule. There are different attachments you can buy to carry kayaks, snowboards, skis, storage bins, etc, that attach to their bars. I'm sure you could find something that would work for whatever you plan to haul.1 of 1
