They seem to work well, sound quality is a little uncertain but they send and receive. Have used them from car to car on the highway. Have not tested the range yet.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Silverado2003 Best radios I have had yet.
I have been through a lot of these type radios. Yes we all know the mileage rating is a little deceiving. I got 2 miles out of mile in town. I was very happy with that. I love the fact that they will float if you would happen to drop them in the water. My old 33 mile motorolla radio was hard to hear the weather channel on unless I held the antenna with my hand. These radios work great on the weather channel for my area and sound crystal clear.

do you need some special license or permitAnswers
A:Â
Their are certain channels you are supposed to get a license for but most people don't have any problems just using them with out. So you should get a license but the fcc is probably not going to come knocking on your door if you don't.A:Â
