Rated 3.4 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Distance It's a good product it just doesn't go as far as they advertise. March 10, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by good use for my uses Use these in retriever training and duck hunting( communicate with other blinds). Volume is a little low and I.couldn't get VOX feature to work easily. But overall does well. Battery lasts very well. December 9, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Childs toy good for every room in the house This unit was a bitter disappointment. Most of the catalogs did not even mention the range of the units, but the boating version of the Bass Pro summer catalog rated these for 35 miles. I purchased them with the idea we could leave my wife and daughter to explore an island and they could call us on the boat to come and get them when they were done. We tested them in town, and found they could not broadcast more than 1 block!!!!. I wonder if anyone at Bass Pro even tested these! Out of perhaps 30 items I ordered on my last Bass Pro order, these get my skunk of the week award! El stinko. June 28, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Works They seem to work well, sound quality is a little uncertain but they send and receive. Have used them from car to car on the highway. Have not tested the range yet. April 15, 2013

These have a rechargeable battery pack, cannot use AA batteries, and no car charger but, you can get a cheap power inverter and charge them that way.

A:
Their are certain channels you are supposed to get a license for but most people don't have any problems just using them with out. So you should get a license but the fcc is probably not going to come knocking on your door if you don't.
