Rated 5 out of 5 by Value Product Uncle Buck's Crappie Reel is a great product for use with any crappie pole. They seem to be well made and will last for years. I bought several on sale at BassPro and got a great deal. Have used them for years and will continue to do so. March 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Works well I bought four of these reels for crappie fishing. I read reviews before I bought them and several people complained of the line getting behind the reel spool. I did have this problem once. Once I took the reel apart and cleared the line I noticed the reel plate had not been screwed tight. Once I did that on all four reel I had no more problem. Rated 1 out of 5 by Don't buy this reel! Bought this reel this past spring to put on my jig pole. Worked fine for a while but then I kept getting my 8 lb line between the spool and the reel casing along the inside of the reel. At first, I could just pull it out, but then it got so bad that the handle wouldn't turn at all there was so much line around the shaft. So took the little screws off on the side opposite the handle and the inside spring comes jumping out at me. Got it back together but now there is no free spool and no stop. Less than a year and I'm going to have to replace this reel. Uncle buck's tackle is usually a great value, but skip this one and spend a little more. I wish I had. October 24, 2012

Any light weight or ultra light rod will do, even an ice fishing rod, as long as it has reel clamps. Corkey
