Awesome product I had my doubts about this stuff before using it. I've had bad experiences with other similar products, this stuff is truly "Tuff Coat" Hasn't scratched or peeled....... December 30, 2010
Great Product We were redoing the walkaround teak decks on our 1978 trawler and needed a product that provided the flexibiltiy needed for a boat deck. Tuff Coat is working very well for us! It went on 6 months ago and is holding up well. We have had to redo a few places (due to moisture under the Tuff Coat) but this has been easy to do. Note: the white did not stay white for us very long - it is more a light yellow at this point. Not bad but definitely not white. I would use it again as it cleans up well, holds up well and the non-skid surface is great. It does hold up to banging by anchors, chains, etc quite well. Definitely need to use the primer though. Both the primer and the finish coat went on relatively easily. November 27, 2010
TUFF STUFF So far this product has lived up to its name, it’s pretty tuff. It was easy to apply and to clean up. I put it on all the surfaces of my Sea ark and it is pretty great. After a good day of fishing I had a lot of blood and fish slime all over the decks and I still didn’t slide around. I thought that the blood wouldn’t come off after baking in the Florida sun all day but one swipe with the pressure washer and it was gone with no scrubbing or chemicals. So far no peeling on any of the sides or flat surfaces. I do agree with previous comments about the color charts but I used some spray paint and some creativity to spruce up the bland color. The wife didn’t like but like I told her it isn’t a pleasure boat it’s a functional fishing boat and if she doesn’t like it she doesn’t have to ride in it. October 15, 2010
Ok except for color This would be a great product if someone actually put together a correct color chart, Tan is not tan, it is a very dark brown. I just wonder what some of the grays are, is Sand really sand? I hope the store will take this stuff back and I can try Sand to see if it is any closer to Tan. I would recommend this but check the color first. May 21, 2010

It is rough by design, but safe for bare feet, depending on the color ! Choose a light color to reflect the heat if bare feet are standard.

I did the best I could to remove all loose, and globbed up spots using a scraper & wire wheel.
Then covered right over it. Can't tell the old glue was even there !
Tuff Coat hides it all.

This stuff should stick to anything. If the glue is stuck well, just cover over it.

Yes, the manufacturer says you can add color paint, however, this is a water base so you must use a water base color paint.

The directions say to roughen up the surface before application. Also there is a primer that is applied.

Never tried it, but the texture is rough enough to stand a top coat.... I guess it would depend on the paint.
A top coat would diminish the texture some though.

We do a lot of fishing and are considering this instead of new carpet. How well does it clean up after a day of blood and guts from fish and bait? Also, it says it covers 50 sq. ft. per gallon, but I read that two coats were required - does that mean it would take 8 gallons to cover appx. 200 sq. ft of deck?

It took two gallons to do my 19ft boat (about 90 sq ft) and that was two coats...I think that the 50 sq ft is with the two coat recommendation. I have found that it cleans up very well after a full day fishing...I just pull through the car wash and spray it down...I did have to use a brush when I accidently let some fish blood bake all day, but it didn't stain.

I don't recall the coverage - you will definitely need two coats though. Call the company in Colorado - they can give you some guidance as to actual coverage. Do an internet search to find them. They are very helpful!!
