I have to say that i was impressed with the quality of the seat and it's mounting bracket. I have only used this seat in my yard as i wait eagerly for spring turkey season and then the real test of next deer season to really give this seat a work out. It is so light and fits in my day pack perfecly. I have made one modifaction so far and that was moving the strap and bolt up higher on the tree support so it has less of a chance of wanting to stick out away from the tree when you sit on it. One more suggestion would be to install a longer strap and or a wratcheting strap.

I have to say I really like this seat. Makes for a more comfortable hunt especially when u know your coming back te next day, Seat is already there!!! It's relatively quite. The seat cushion could be a little better. No problem sitting for 2 hours.
The only problem is the strap that goes around the tree is not stiff enough. The strap stretches too much and the top of the support bar comes forward and the seat angles down. The buckle just can't cinch it down enough. I had to use a ratch strap on the top if the support pole. Once I cinched it down with my strap the hunt was on!!!!

Not enough padding
The swivel is fine but the seat compressess and is very uncomfortable...needs heavier duty padding...

Good swivel seat
This seat is exactly what the picture shows, however it is not what I intended on getting. Good quality, but pricey for a swivel seat without a platform.

Don't worry about its weight...worry about breaking your neck...should only be used while hunting on the ground in my opinion. If you are just hankering to try out your safety harness, this is a sure bet way to do it.
What else would you strap it to? Seriously though, this is fine for ground hunting but I'm skeptical about its safety in a tree stand even with a safety harness. I have a similar one I've used for years when ground hunting and using a protable ground blind.
