I purchased this unit mainly because a brand I am familiar with and from others reviews of product. My 110# Chocolate Lab became very loud with the introduction of grandbaby to house for frequent visits. I had to do something he became so focused when baby cried that he refused commands and his barking worsened situation. The collar installed easily, directions were clear and it worked perfectly on the lowest setting. He winced a few times but soon got the hint within 1 day of use Jackson and Crystal were quiet and granddaddy happy. Thanks Bass Pro

I have never needed a bark collar before because my dog didn't used to bark when I left him alone. I recently moved from a house into an apartment and he did not adjust well. He would have barking fits the minute I left and this is simply not acceptable in an apartment community. I was leery of using a bark collar but felt I had no other choice. I did some research and this collar had other great reviews so I purchased it. My dog is very fluffy (shepherd mix) so the fact that it comes with alternate longer prongs specifically made for fluffy dogs is great! It took a few tries (4 to be exact) for him to figure out that the collar was going to work each time, but once he finally did he has not barked since! My neighbors and I are very grateful and I have already recommended this collar to my friends experiencing similar problems.

This collar ended our lab's bark problem overnight! He would bark all night long irritating not only us but our neighbors too. One night with this collar....problem solved! Easy to use and water proof but most importantly it's made in USA!

My cattle dog mix has a relatively short coat and no undercoat, yet even with the long leads he was only getting corrected about 50% of the time. It could not have been because it was too loose. It was so tight I was afraid to leave him alone...which was the reason I got the collar. I can correct him when home.
The other more worrying problem I had with the collar was that it would correct him for no reason. Twice he was just standing around and got zapped. Maybe he swallowed or burped. He also got corrected several times while I took the collar off. It's possible the sound of the collar rubbing on itself set it off. Regardless, it wasn't an effective training aid because he couldn't predict when he was going to get corrected and thus learn to modify his behavior.
My family has used Tri-tronics collars for hunting with great results, but this bark collar did not work for us.
