I put this off awhile, waiting for a built in lanyard. TT is now owned by Garmin and they are clearly not bird hunters. I looked at their "holster" for $30. I thought the cloth lanyard was going to break right there on the computer screen. I'm a TT snob, they are still the best but really no lanyard? Here is a solution. 7/64" hole drilled outside in -- to get the correct angle you cannot go out. Put two holes in the shield above the black button and below the metal switch. Take coated, 14 gauge wire (black). Run it through the holes. Up to now, just like it is bolted to the display at the store. Now run the wire around the back of the tube and twist it off once. Now the load is not on the shield but the tube. Once twisted, I made a loop (sort of a figure 8) by using a square knot and twisting the ends around the open loop. Now the load is on the solid tube and if it is attached to you, you should be good. I'm providing dogs to a youth hunt Sunday but my dogs know the drill. I am replacing the old green and black square controler. Those old G3s are programmable to this but they take more than 5 seconds, hold the collar button when you push it on (do not on, release, then hold again) and there is no "two short beeps" on the old collars. It is set in a count of 10. Maybe shorter but 10 works. My $.02, worth what you paid for it.

I've had the collars a few weeks. I have 3 dogs. They figured out really quickly when you use "T" to ding them that they better stop what they're doing. I bought this specific collar (even though it's expensive) because my friend has had these collars for 8 years & still has the same batteries. He recommended it & he uses it to train labs.
It was easy to set up multiple collars. Only thing was I had to get the actual collars from the manufacturer - they didn't come from BassPro. So it took a bit longer to get them which meant I couldn't use the extra receivers for a few days.

Before buying the classic 70G3 I borrowed a couple of other brand name dog training systems from my friends. Now after using the Tri-tronics, it is by far number one. It gives me confidence for long distance.
