Been hunting for over 40 years and wanted to say a few things regarding the rookie comments in the other reviews:
The ramrod is NOT flush, the end unscrews, flips around and screws back on to lay over the conical end of the slug for better seating and is a good 2 inches above the barrel. This is typical for about any ramrod that is contained in the stock.
Sighting in - Took me 4 shots from bore-sighting to spot-on @ 100 yds. I am tossing 100gr powder and 250 gr Hornady low drag sabots. If you're running 150 powder and 300 slug, you're going to have issues with being consistent no matter the gun. Unless you're hunting elephants, 100/250 is just fine...
Scope is great for a freebie. Good clear optics - wondering if these other reviewers having trouble with the scope are mounting it properly? How can you have powder burns coming from the breech plug onto your optics unless your scope is too far up and your plug is not tight? I do agree that a thumbtab on the hammer is a good thing to have, but unless you're mounting your scope too far back, you should have plenty of clearance to cock your hammer.
Another review said "Scope not attached or boresighted..." Really? Hunh. Guess that's why you either (a) have a $30 boresight kit, or (b) are friends with the local gun shop. 'nuff said.
Overally, I really like this gun for the money. Nutz-on performance, I can run 4 rounds before having to bore-brush it out, the nickel finish makes it easy to clean, hundreds of shots fired and still consistent as ever, and although I have plans to add other BP's to the safe, I think this one is going to stay my go-to gun for deer season.

Scope on gun very difficult to sight in and keep sighted in. After shooting several times, there is a powder burn on scope above breach plug.

There should be a side piece that goes in the hammer to allow you to cock the hammer when you are dealing with a scope mount. As to the other compliant, buy a different ramrod. Traditions makes tons of them.

The scope was mounted and bore sighted in the store before I left, but I was unhappy to notice I had no room between the scope and the hammer. I can't cock the gun with the scope on..... Fair price and friendly staff.
