To begin with the small hose wasn't small enough to fit through my dipstick, so I made a trip to Home Depot for a true 1/4" hose. After pumping for 20 minutes and getting a fee ounces of oil out of the engine, I pulled the hose off the end and checked for suction...almost nothing. It's in a bag on the way back to BassPro with family waiting to go boating.

Well, it went together easily and pumped about 2-3 gallons of gas out of the boat without an issue before it got harder and harder to pump. It wasn't long before I could barely pump it without feeling like I was going to break the handle.

This pump is not a pump. It does not work! 1 hour of use pumped less than 1/4 of a quart of oil.

I used the Trac T10060 to pump out my car's oil through the dipstick. What I like about this pump in comparison to other hand pumps, is that the drain outlet is located at the bottom instead of the top of the pump barrel (oil is less likely to seep through the pump rod). One drawback is that the inlet hose collapses easily, which constricts but does not stop the oil flow (easily fixed by getting a stronger hose at a hardware store). Another small drawback is that because of the pump's internal valve, you have to constantly pump (not too hard because the handle could break) and can't fall back on gravity siphoning. It took me a half hour of constant hand pumping to remove 5 quarts of oil ... so my arm was tired. However, there was no messy oil leakage that you encounter with other hand pumps, including more expensive ones.
