Toon-brite Concentrated Aluminum Boat Cleaner
Misleading Description & Incomplete Instructions
I will solve your mystery for this product. If you plan to use it for an old (minimum 4 years) boat/pontoon hull that has rarely been cleaned, you will love it. If you plan to use it for a new/newish boat and only want something as maintenance, DO NOT USE! This is acid-based and will turn new aluminum white. Old aluminum that's coated with grime will look great to the owner because they haven't seen it clean in a while. The packaging says it will "brighten" aluminum, very misleading. You actually need to polish the stained, off white aluminum if you want any of the gloss back. Anyone who says this product worked for them, check the boat they're using it on: it's old and dirty. Anyone who says this product turned their hull white, check the boat they're using it's new. Yup, I used it on my new boat and look at what it did in the pics. I diluted it 50/50 and only kept it on the hull for 1-2 minutes.

Worked great for what I needed
We used this on a pontoon that we purchased that had been sitting, in the water, for approximately 18 months - the bottoms of the 'toons were black and coated with all sorts of crud. The important things to remember when using this product is a) do not use it in direct sunlight; and b) do not let it dry on the pontoons. I rinsed my pontoons down with clean water prior to applying it - sprayed it on; waited 5 minutes, and then rinsed it off. Worked like a champ - and it did not turn my 'toons white. I've seen several comments where people used them on 'new' - I can't speak to that, but for what we needed, it did a great job and was very easy to use. I also applied it using a handheld garden pump sprayer that had a very fine mist setting - maybe that helped? Will definitely use it again - this weekend :) I only did the outsides of the toons when we cleaned it up for use over the summer - time to get the insides. Then, time to polish them and put a protectant on.....

I have a 2008 Pontoon and I tried to use this product non-diluted and it turned my pontoon on one side white and streaked in different areas. I diluted it 50/50 and used on other side and it did nothing. I followed the instructions, applied the product with a mop and washed it off with a pressure washer within 5 minutes of application. Now I have a white spotted and streaked pontoon that looks terrible. I have had to order a special marine aluminum paint and going to have to re-paint both pontoons to get an evenly matched look again. Paint cost is $89 plus a lot of personal time and effort. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.

not what I was looking for!
used this stuff to clean my toons and it left them with a milky aluminum look, it did clean them after cleaning 3 times with the stuff ( left streaks) but now they look old with no shine at all
bottom line if you just want a clean mill finish look then you'll be pleased, if you want a brite shiny finish do not use this still
BTW my toons was not that dirty just wanted to clean it before I store my toon for the winter
