Actually bought two of these and have not been disappointed. Well designed, very strong. If you need something to get high enough for a pedistal seat, then this is your answer.

I bought two of these rod holders to use for trolling crank baits for Crappie. They are very well made and they work great. I vary the rod tip height and I troll three rods with one a long line, one a medium distance line and one line only about 15 feet behind the boat. I have really increased my daily catch using this system. When trolling I catch Crappie, Bass, and Catfish so it's always a surprise until I see the fish.
I highly recommend this product. I also bought 2 extra base plates so I have one at each corner of the boat at the bow and stern. That way I can use two at the front if fishing alone or on one the front and back of the boat if fishing with someone.
When I'm just Bass fishing they are easy to remove just leaving the base plates on the deck.
