Recently purchased this gun mainly for looks and to add to my T/C collection. I sighted this rifle in (NIKON nikoplex scope) with a bore site to get things going as its very difficult here in NJ to find a public range these days (especially state owned)...In anycase, i finally made it to a range where i was shooting 250 grain sabots with 150 g pellets...After about a dozen shots i was ready to get rid of the gun and go back to my trusty encore as i was all over the place...(By the way i did clean the bore after each shot)...Out of curiosity i switched to 240 grain xtp magnums while still using 150 g pellets and i was shooting balls off a fly at 100yrds consistently! I willl be keeping this rifle and cant wait to get it in the woods!! Weird though that the 240 grain rounds made that much of a difference!

recently purchased the TC Triumph Bone Collector and all I can say is WOW...this gun is an absolute dream to shoot...light, accurate, and with the speed breech xt it's a breeze to clean...have a Nikon Inline XR with BDC 300 mounted with TC Maxima quick release rings and a TC Maxima scope base and I don't think there's a better combo out there...all my other guns are going to be coat racks from now on cause this thing will be coming on every hunt possible...shooting the new Hornady 300 grain FPB seated on 120 grains of Blackhorn 209 powder with CCI standard primers and its deadly out to 200 yards plus...recoil is soft thanks to the burners...do yourself a favor and buy this gun...I promise you, you will love everything about it!!!

TC Encore for sale.
I own an Encore and enjoyed it quite well. Until that is, I picked up a Bone Collector for my son. My Encore may be worth more but I sure like the feel and accuracy of my sons new popper. It shoulders great and shoots even better. Recoil and noise are significantly reduced compared to my gun. Yup, I just might have to get one.

I have not taken it hunting yet, but it has proven very accurate at the range. I loaded it with 100 grains of Blackhorn 209 with a TC 250 grain sabot, then mounted a Leupold SABR scope on it and within 3 shots was drilling the bullseye. I am very anxious to take it to the field for muzzleloader season. It is super easy to clean. That is a definite plus. All in all an excellent blackpowder rifle. Whooah!!!

With this Power Rod feature, do you have to carry around an extra tip to seat the Sabot down in the barrel?

The only difference in this rod is the convenience of the swivel T end. It is a great help but you still need to buy tips.

Yes, you have to carry the tip with you because you cannot put the ramrod back in the gun with it on. It's about the only downfall of the gun, but it's not really a problem. When I'm hunting I usually take the rod out, put the tip on, and set it aside. The tip does come with the gun too.Details:Â

No. In order to get this feature you would need to move up to an Encore. The Bone Collector has a superior feel when shouldered so think about this. Trust me. The whole barrel switch thing is over rated. It's just easier to get another gun in the caliber you want. Not a single shot, break barrel action with very slow reload time.A:Â

There should be minimal movement in the barrel. If it moves more than a few thousandths of an inch, I would send it back to T/C. They got great costumer service, they will take care of you and your gun .A:Â
No, that sounds really weird to me. I have owned a couple of different TC rifles and have never seen anything like that. I would return the weapon before firing it. It sounds to me like there is some kind of manufacture's defect.Details:Â

If you get the gun, scope combo, it does. It will also have the mount if you get the combo

In my experience, the stainless steel is bullet proof. However this weathersheild has me sold so far. You can leave it out in the truck overnight and no signs of pitting or rusting. Great product.A:Â

The primers to use are for smokeless powder. Triple 7's by Winchester seem to be the best I have used.A:Â

If you're looking at shooting out to 200 yrds you better understand that you will measure bullet drop in feet not inches. This gun is lethal out to 200 yrds but I certainly would not recommend it. It's pretty good to 150 then it really drops off sharp.A:Â
I like the Burris fulfilled2 with the ballistic plex. 2imr white hot pellets and the Barnes250 grain T-EZ FB bullets. I got great groups out to250 yrds. 2 inch groups at200 yrdsA:Â
The Bone Collector does not come in SS. If you want the stainless steel look, go to the Pro Hunter. The most accurate muzzelloader I have ever shot. As far as loads go, I like the Hornady Sabots with Triple 7 pellets and Triple 7 primers. One thing I can say is CCI primers are way too corrosive for my liking.A:Â
No stainless barrels. Weather shield should be all you need though. Just keep the inside bore lightly coated with oil.Details:Â
