The PETT® (Portable Environmental Toilet)
This thing is great! Robust construction, yet lighter than you would think. Very stable on uneven ground. The women won't go camping without it. Only drawback is the cost of the bags, but they do help with odor problems.

Perfect for Taigating but.....
Purchased for tailgating-great alternative to standing in long lines for dirty jiffy john with no tp paper or hand santizer. This was perfect along with the privy tent easy set up, no mess until security made us take it down for being a bio-hazzard. Funny bought from Bass Pro the same store the NE Pats are making room for in the stadium parking lot........

A Camping Necessity
This is a great item. My camper is a 13' egg style trailer and does not have a bathroom. I bought this thinking I would use for emergency needs. It is so convenient and sanitary for that matter, that I used every morning instead of braving the cold so early by running to the nearest public restroom in the camp site.
Also, I weigh 230lbs and it was not the least bit tipsy or unstable. It is a very sturdy unit.
It stores away in very little space without the need for bulky water tank for use.
I'd highly recommend this to anyone.

There is enough gelling powder to gel 32 ounces (946.35 ml) or 3-4 uses. This is a personal choice/decision; the gel keeps on working until fully saturated, and must be activated by a liquid to properly encapsulate the solid waste. The toilet's lid can be placed on the toilet over used bags to keep out insects. Extra toilet paper and hand wipes may be needed. You may also want to consider purchasing a canister of Poo Powder® waste treatment and sprinkle a little on top of the waste between uses.
The bag is quite large, and made of heavy duty plastic. With the cost per bag taken into consideration, I would use it multiple times before removing and discarding. Do remove and discard whenever you need to move the PETT to a new location.
You really do need to remove and discard the bag when you relocate the PETT. It has gel in it to solidify the waste, but it is still in mushy gel form. While in the PETT, the bag is open. Remove it, you'll be happier.
Lift up the seat, flick the top of the waste bag that is tucked into the clean sanitary drip edge groove. Grab the upper portion of waste kit and twist bag a couple of times at the lowest point just above the waste. Fold over top of bag and place in the zip-close disposal bag for transporting to next campsite. You can use the bag several times before final landfill disposal. That's what I'd do.
