This is the perfect hiking boot. I was surprised at how light it was when I first took it out of the box. I was again surprised at how sturdy it was as we took our first 4 hour hike. It is water proof and breathable. So a whole day of wear and your feet are not tired or overheated. There is great support and being a mid rise shoe, terrific ankle support for that rough terrain. Fits true to shoe size. My husband and I both bought a pair and they fit perfect.
