I purchased these shoes because I have had North Face products before and have been pleased with them. After about two months, the soles were falling apart. Thank goodness for Shoe Goo. If you're going to do a lot of hiking, I don't recommend these shoes. The only thing these shoes had going for them was that they were comfortable. Now the insole is broken down with a big lump at the ball of my feet. If you decide to get these shoes, make sure you have some Shoe Goo for repairs.

I do a lot of hiking with my dog and find these to be a great summer time, light weight, hiking boot. They are very comfortable and I like the 6" ankle support. They are ideal for what I use them for. I would like to see them come in a wide size, however because I specifically use them only for hiking, they will eventually form to my feet and my style of hiking.

These were just OK. Kind of tuff to break in. They seem to be well made. They look nice and are holding up fine. Just not as comfortable as I had hoped for. I know its apples to oranges but I probably would have been happier with some Wolverine 8in lace-ups. Or maybe even these in a low cut? I dont like the 6in hieght at all.

I'm looking for boots to wear while rock fishing. So if water splashes all over it and it all gets wet, are the feet will still be dry or water will get to the inside? And does it take long to dry? And how is the leather reacts to the water?
I wore these in alaska for a two week fishing trip and they were awesome. They never got wet until i walked through a glacial river that was up to my knees. They dry out fast. When water hits them it beads up and eventually runs off. I also used them in prince william sound for rockfishing and they were great.
According to the manufacturer, this boot is waterproof. On their web site, (see link) another customer had stated they do not shed water very well and stay heavy for along time. However, this boot should keep you dry. Thanks
