I love this tool and have nothing negative to say about it. I have used it on just about every species of fishing on the river. I am always nervous about grabbing a fish with a mouth full of treble hooks so that is why I have purchased this. We have been using the same tool for a few years now and it has taking smallmouth, walleye, catfish, musky and carp off the hook and performed flawless every time.
If you are looking for a tool that can help you safely take fish off the hook or hooks and not harm the fish, this is the tool you need. I will not even go out in the boat with out it. Hopefully I will not need to buy another one but if mine break right now. I would order a new one that day. Thanks for the great product!!!

Don't leave home without it
The fish grip works great. I like it when I'm using lures with treble hooks or fish with teeth. It will save you from getting a hook stuck in you from overactive fish. Excellent for kayak fishing where you don't have room for a net and it floats!!

Excellent Fish Gripper
Great for Bass.
Keeps your fingers safe from hooks (and fish teeth if you're going for toothy fish) when a fish makes sudden moves right when you are about to grab them.
Makes it extremely easy to weigh a fish without poking anymore holes etc. in the fish.
There's a little hole in the grip to put your scale hook through, but just use the wrist loop.
The main disadvantage is that this thing is pretty big. It works fine for Bass, but is not that convenient to store away. There is a smaller version , and I recommend Bass Pro to carry that version too. I have both big and small version, and they work equally well, just easier to store and carry around the fish grip jr.
