A Bass Pro Exclusive!
These powerful Temple Fork Outfitters™ Hawgleg Fly Rods were designed by bass fishermen, for bass fishermen. You know what we mean—you’ve got to bring enough rod to the fight, without sacrificing balance, speed, and easy loading. Bass will sometimes respond to a sloppy shot, but when the chips are down, you better be able to hit the target fast and hard. At 7'11", these rugged sticks are tournament-legal, and respond quickly for precise, accurate casts and solid fish-pulling power around heavy cover—they’ll hold their own against bass of all sizes. Features include a two-piece blank; premium flor-grade cork grips; machined-aluminum reel seats; and Texas Red blank.

Fly Fishin' fer Bass Someone came up with a new concept for catching bass: a 7'11" (tournament legal if you're so inclined) 10 weight (sturdy) fly rod. Hook it up with a 20 lb leader (yes, 20 pound to coax them out of the bushes) and a Clouser minnow or other streamer and you're in for some fun! You can also use a bass popper but I've had a little better luck with the jerk/rip action of a streamer. I got a complete outfit from Temple Fork (Gary Loomis' new company) at BassPro for a very reasonable price with no sacrifice of quality. I love it!!! February 26, 2015
Good Stick for Close Combat A lot of my redfishing involves close-range blind casting to points and pockets in the grass shorelines. The Hawgleg 7/8 performs admirably in this task with an 8-weight redfish line - a 7-weight will not load at short range. The rod has also done well in taming several reds in the 28-inch class. Overall I am quite pleased with it. November 18, 2014
TFO HAwgLeg Bought this last Sunday and took it straight out to the lake. It felt great in the store, but really comes alive on the water. Casting is a breeze and just lays the line out there. The only drawback I see is that it is a 2 piece. This does not bother me, but some may not like that. April 13, 2012
