Rated 5 out of 5 by RedCloud Excellent rod from a legendary rod builder.
I have been building custom rods for about 16 years. The rod blanks and components Gary Loomis uses for the TFO rods are high quality and the craftsmanship is excellent. I cannot build one of this quality for the sales price of a TFO rod. Mounted with a Penn Battle 4000 this is an outstanding rig for snook, redfish and trout.

I use this 7 ft med. wt. rod for topwater redfishing. It has landed some large fish with ease. It is strong and powerful. I use a Shimano Sustain 3000 with 15# Power Pro. What a sweet outfit. I have fished the Amazon for peacock bass and this outfit will be a part of my arsenal when I go again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Carliandres Excellent for snook!
I have several TFO and they'd been great!
With the 6'6" MH model caught 6 snooks in one day, ranging from 5 - 9 pounds....10lb powerpro and a saros 4000....
I'd used this rod from three months or so...so far no problem with the guides and feels very nice with this reel..you could even go with a lighter and it'll feel just great!!

When I first handled this rod in the store I immediatly fell in love with it, but this would be a short lived romance. After only 3 uses all of the guide seats cracked and all the guides fell out. I was extremely dissappointed because I had been telling my friends all about this company and suggesting they give it a try. I am lucky that I have a friend at a local dealer that was willing to exchange the rod for another and I quickly gave it away.I was told by the same dealer that this was a known problem with TFO and they hoped to fix it with their new line of of tactical rods. Wish TFO would extend their warranty to cover the guides, but they do not.
