Spey casters know exactly what characteristics high-performing spey rods need so Temple Fork Outfitters enlisted two top Pacific Northwest spey casters, Mike Kinney and Bob Meiser, to help design the Deer Creek Series Spey Rods. The end result is beautiful and we’re not just talking about the rich translucent dark amethyst finish and premium components they sport, but the visually compelling casts they’re able to produce as well. The Deer Creek Series Spey Rods have casting properties that marry perfectly with modern spey lines. They have a unique progressive-regressive traditional action which makes them the perfect two-handed rods for executing all types of spey and skagit casts. Backed by Lifetime No-Fault Warranty.

Rated 4 out of 5 Great action
The action of the rod is great. Casts very well and haven't had any issues. My only disappointment is the cork handle has rough spots/layers missing. It doesn't affect the performance, just not as aesthetically pleasing as it should be. I expected more attention to detail from TFO.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Skyman69 My new favourite spey rod
I love this rod. I broke my $900 rod in the second week of Steelhead season on the Bulkley River in BC, Canada and bought this rod as a cheap replacement until I got my rod back from warranty replacement. I almost never use my expensive rod now. This rod casts much farther, with less effort and is lighter so I am less fatigued at the end of the day. The 8 weight easily landed a 45" Steelhead and tons of Coho Salmon but is still sensitive enough I can enjoy catching incidental little pan size Dolly Varden. I have been heavily abusing it now for approximately 120 days of fishing and it still looks brand new. The only disadvantage to it is the strings on the cloth bag are sewn on the wrong side and the storage tube could have been made out of heavier plastic. I can find no faults with the rod itself. The little dots to help align the pieces of the rod are a fantastic feature.
