A:
I just bought a BVK without the recoil guides as that is all they carried in the store. The newer rods have the recoil guides, it appears and for whatever reason the stores don't carry them. The regular guides work fine though. Every other rod in the store also had regular guides.

No. I don't think any of the TFO rods come with cases. It comes with a sleeve, and I usually buy a Bass pro White River hard case with a reel pocket. They are pretty inexpensive and more durable than most factory rod cases.

Yes, but remember, these rods are quite fast action. I have used a 5 weight 10' and it worked well. There are other rods that would do this better, but you can' t beat the quality you get for the price with the BVK. The 4 weight will give you a little more flex so you can bend with the fish a little better.

I'm not sure they make a 10' 4 wt. That's more of a Euro Nymphing rod. I would go with a 9' 5wt. That's a solid all around size and weight.

A size 3 wt reel. The Lamson Konic 1.5 I'm pretty sure would balance that rod nicely.

I have a TFO Prism 3/4 on my 7'9" 4wt. But all makes have small reels that will work. It boils down to your budget. Just make sure the start-up drag is minimal for light tippets.
